Michael Whitehead

Michael is  a freelance illustrator based in Melbourne. He studied Drawing at Prahran College, and has worked exclusively as an illustrator and graphic artist for newspapers, magazines and other publications. He specialises in feature illustrations to demonstrate ideas, topics and concepts that are difficult to photograph.

Michael worked as Graphics Manager at The Sunday Age and Editorial Artist at The Age newspaper in Melbourne. Michael won two Melbourne Quill awards and a Walkley Award for his contribution to the 2000 Sydney Olympics graphics for Fairfax.

As a freelance artist, he has designed book covers, logos, CDs, magazines and web interfaces. He is co-owner of CombinedMedia, a visual/web communications business.

Michael is an expert user of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
